I believe that dialogue is the key to change, and that thought is the foundation of progress. From the heart of Anbar, we open the doors to meaningful discussions and shape the features of the future through dialogue platforms that bring together thinkers, academics, and decision-makers. Speech of the Founder of the Anbar House for Culture Organization
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and may the most complete blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, his pure family, and his noble companions.
To proceed…
Anbar — this ancient land that has embraced civilizations since the dawn of history — has always been, and continues to be, a cradle of thought, culture, and human connection. From the eras of the Assyrians and Babylonians to the flourishing Islamic age, Anbar stood as a bridge between East and West, bearing witness to successive civilizations that left their profound marks on its arts, sciences, and rich heritage.
Because history is not merely pages to be read but a living legacy upon which the future is built, the idea of founding Dar Al-Anbar for Culture emerged — to serve as a cultural beacon that revives the city’s great heritage and propels it toward new horizons of creativity and enlightenment.
This institution was born out of a deep conviction that culture is not a luxury, but a civilizational necessity that reflects a society’s identity and protects it from dissolution and fragmentation. Thus, Dar Al-Anbar for Culture was established as an institution dedicated to thought, arts, and literature — striving to create a space that brings together intellectuals and creatives from various fields. Our vision is to revive Anbar’s cultural heritage, highlight its rich legacy, and provide a platform for dialogue and intellectual exchange that contributes to building a society aware of its values and its future.
Dar Al-Anbar for Culture works to organize a wide range of cultural activities — from intellectual seminars that shed light on Anbar’s history and present, to literary evenings that host distinguished writers and poets. The institution also places special emphasis on visual arts through art exhibitions and events dedicated to traditional crafts that reflect Anbar’s unique identity. In addition, we hold training workshops in various cultural fields, believing firmly in the role of education in empowering future generations to understand their heritage and build a strong foundation for the future.
The establishment of this institution is not merely a cultural project — it is a message we deeply believe in and pursue with passion and determination. We aspire for this organization to become a radiant center of Iraqi culture, a meeting point between the past and the present — where new generations can rediscover the legacy of their ancestors and draw inspiration from their creativity and renewal. We also seek to build bridges of cooperation with other cultural institutions inside and outside Iraq, to strengthen cultural exchange and openness to diverse human experiences.
In conclusion, the Dar Al-Anbar for Culture project is an open invitation to all intellectuals, writers, artists, and ambitious youth to join us on this cultural journey — so that together we may shape a bright future that restores Anbar’s leading role in the Arab and global cultural scene. For culture is the soul of the nation — the fortress that safeguards its identity and propels it toward greater horizons of enlightenment.
