Al-Anbar House for Culture Holds a Dialogue Seminar on the University of Mosul’s Experience in Transitioning to Sustainable Clean Energy

Al-Anbar House for Culture, in cooperation with the College of Engineering at Al-Maarif University, held a dialogue seminar today, Thursday, October 8, 2026, titled “Towards Green Universities: The University of Mosul’s Experience in Transitioning to Sustainable Clean Energy.” The seminar was held at Al-Maarif University and attended by a number of official and academic figures, researchers, and those interested in environmental affairs and sustainable energy.

The seminar hosted Assistant Professor Dr. Riyadh Zaki Sabri, a faculty member in the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Mosul. He presented the University of Mosul’s experience in adopting clean energy projects and its efforts to promote environmental sustainability and rationalize energy consumption, as well as the role of universities in supporting the transition toward green campuses.

The seminar highlighted the importance of benefiting from leading university experiences in renewable energy and the potential for implementing sustainable solutions on university campuses, contributing to reducing environmental impact and fostering a culture of sustainability among students and staff.

The event also featured academic discussions and contributions addressing the challenges and opportunities facing Iraqi universities in their transition toward clean energy, as well as the importance of strengthening academic cooperation and exchanging expertise among educational institutions.

This seminar is part of a series of academic and cultural activities organized by Al-Anbar House for Culture as part of its efforts to build bridges of cooperation with academic institutions, highlight successful national experiences, and support initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development in Iraq.
